Rams Recap: Week 12

In a week of nailbiters and blowout wins, the Los Angeles Rams decided to follow suit in their second game of the year against division rival Arizona.

With Kyren Williams back in the lineup, Matthew Stafford’s confidence returned in epic form. Williams finished with 143 yards on 16 carries to go with six catches for 61 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Rams completed the season sweep of the Cardinals with a 37-14 win on Sunday afternoon.

Stafford got back to his old self with 229 yards on 25/33 passing with four touchdowns and an interception. Tutu Atwell got into the fun with 76 yards receiving on three catches, and Tyler Higbee got himself 29 yards on two catches with both ending in touchdowns for the tight end.

Defensive wise, the Rams kept the pressure up as Michael Hoecht (1), Kobie Turner (2) and Desjuan Johnson (1) threw themselves a sack party. And while there were no interceptions for the Rams in this game, they did make this a rough outing for Kyler Murray and the Cards.

To say that this was a breath of fresh air for the Rams is an understatement. After weeks of being nothing more than a footnote to their fanbase, the Rams showed their appreciation with a 21-8 lead at halftime followed by a 37-8 lead midway through the fourth. The Rams are not back, yet…but they are on the right track to get back there as they improved to 5-6 on the season, while Arizona falls to 2-10.

On deck for the Rams is a house party with the Cleveland Browns, who lost a tough one to the Broncos today. For the Cardinals, they cash in on those frequent flyer miles to try to shut down the suddenly relevant Pittsburgh Steelers, who staved off a comeback from Cincinnati.

But either way, for the Rams, they sure are happy that they got their playmaker back.
