Rams Clinch Playoffs and Revive Kickers

By Ron Johnson

It may have taken a little longer than expected, but last night, it became official: The Rams are back in the playoffs.

A full season after falling short of defending their Super Bowl Championship, and thanks to the Steelers taking down the Seahawks in Seattle, the Los Angeles Rams have clinched a playoff berth thanks in large part to their fortitude over the last few games. After winning multiple nailbiters, including their last three, the Rams now find themselves preparing for what should be nothing more than a scrimmage game this weekend as they visit the San Francisco 49ers for their regular season finale.

With both teams locked in for postseason play, we should not see many of the starters in this game for either side, which is a good thing for the Niners since their bulldozer, Christian McCaffrey, left Sunday’s game with a calf injury and will be out for Week 18.

But with every good news for the Rams, there’s also some bad news along with it.

After missing two field goals in Sunday’s nailbiter with the Giants, kicker Lucas Havrisik has been cut by the Rams…only to be replaced by one of the WORST kickers in NFL history, Brett Maher. Yes, folks, the man who was doinking before doinking was a thing returns to the Rams for the final game of the regular season with a chance to actually TRY to do a better job than he did the last time around.

The NFL 2023-24 Season wraps up this weekend. Schedule Preview coming soon!
