Nate Diaz And Jorge Masvidal Will Have Boxing Match

Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal are going to be meeting up in the boxing ring soon. The major news was just announced as a 10-round light heavyweight competition. The match has been set to play out on June 1st, over at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.

What’s interesting is that both Masvidal and Diaz are experienced MMA fighters. They previously competed against one another in the Octagon back in 2019, with Masvidal finding a way to win after Diaz suffered a cut right over his eye that got the fight shut down. When it comes to their boxing experience, that is far less.

Masvidal has only had one professional boxing match in his career, that being a win in 2005. As for Diaz, he only has one professional boxing match as well, that being a loss to Jake Paul via unanimous decision.

Nate Diaz Searching For Revenge, Masvidal Wants To Shut It Down

There does feel to be some bad blood here between these fighters. Masvidal has already come out and said, “Nate’s a dead man walking. I can’t wait to prove that last time was no fluke. He got saved by the referee. Now we are boxing, which he says is his forte, but he’s got not shot at beating me.”

Masvidal continued his trash talk by saying that he won’t let Diaz breathe in the ring, nor will he let anybody say that this match ended in another fluke.

It should also be noted that both athletes stepped away from the UFC entirely. Diaz hasn’t re-signed with the organization after his past contract expired in 2022. Masvidal on the other hand retired from the league after his loss in April of 2023. Masvidal has said in the past that he plans on returning to MMA at some point on top of competing in boxing.

Although it doesn’t seem like he has a set fight planned already. For now, both accomplished MMA fighters will be putting all of their focus and energy into the boxing ring.
