The Debut of Mason Morelli

Mason Morelli from Minot, South Dakota a former Omaha Mavericks hockey player who last season spent the season with the champion Hershey Bears in the American Hockey League. He came to the Vegas Golden Knights as a free agent on October eighth 2023 and was sent to Henderson with the Golden Knights affiliate Henderson Silver Knights. In 44 games there he had ten goals and 13 assists with 23 points to his name. He spent 31 minutes in the penalty box. Morelli became the 748th different ECHL player to make his debut and is the eighth player this season for the ECHL.

Three Goals for Vegas to start off the game

The Vegas Golden Knights started off early in the game scoring a goal within the first three minutes of the game. The first goal happened in two minutes and 28 seconds and was scored by Michael Amadio who recorded his eighth goal of the season. Amadio goal was assisted by Zach Whitecloud who picked up his fifth assist of the season.

Two minutes and three seconds later the Golden Knights scored another goal in the period and this time it was scored by William Karlsson who recorded his 17th goal of the season and he got assisted by Alec Martinez who recorded his eighth assist of the season and also grabbing assist was Mark Stone his 37th assist of the season. The time of the goal was four minutes and 25 seconds and the Golden Knights were up two to nothing before the end of the first period.

Towards the end of period the Golden Knights had a Power Play goal and it was scored by none other than their rookie Mason Morelli who made his debut in the game to record his first goal of his NHL career the goal was assisted by Alex Pietrangelo who picked up his 24th assist of the season. Also getting the assist is Alec Martinez his second assist in the game and ninth assist of the season.

Towards the end of second period late goal for Vegas

The Golden Knights at the end of the second period scored another goal to make the game a four to nothing game against the Sharks. The goal was scored by Keegan Kolesar who recorded his fifth goal of the season and grabbing the assist was Alec Martinez who got his third assist of the game and his tenth assist of the season. The other assist was the rookie Mason Morelli who grabbed his first NHL assist of the season. The time of the goal was 18 minutes and 44 seconds.

Good Debut for the Rookie

The Vegas Golden Knights Rookie Mason Morelli had a really great game for his debut having one goal and one assist in the game. I will call this a successful debut for him. He is going to probably play more games for the Golden Knights and the future is bright for the former Omaha Mavericks college product and he grabbed two points under his belt today.
