8 Wins for the Golden Knights as they show a great start in the NHL Season

Las Vegas Golden Knights vs the Los Angeles Kings

After the Vegas, Golden Knights lost their first game in overtime to the Chicago Blackhawks after hosting them the previous day and having a final score of four to three. The Los Angeles Kings came into this game after playing the Arizona Coyotes in Arizona with a final score five to four.

After the first period the Kings came in early with their birthday boy Alex Laferriere scoring a goal with six minutes and 47 seconds left to go until the first period was over. The Golden Knights challenged this goal but were unsuccessful and got called for a penalty for delay of game. The Golden Knights had nine shots in the first period.

The Second period of the game and Vegas Golden Knights ended up making the game a tie. Vegas’ first goal came with 12 minutes and twenty seven seconds left and was scored by Pavel Dorofeyev. That goal was a backhanded goal. The Kings scored first in the second period making the score two zero.

Then the Vegas goal cut the lead down to one. Later in the second period Vegas had a hockey fight with one of the Kings and then one of the Kings players slashed the Vegas player. The fight was between Nicolas Hague and Andreas Englund and then the Kings Slashing penalty was on Andreas Englund as well. So Andreas Englund was in the box for seven minutes. Vegas ended up tying the game with seven minutes and three seconds left and the goal was by William Carrier and he got assisted by Keegan Kolesar and Brett Howden

Third period the teams are evenly matched then with 13:34 to go Mark Stone scores the go ahead goal making the score three to two. With one minute and three seconds Drew Doughty scored the tying goal to send the game into overtime. 

Overtime was a silent period and neither team scored. And in overtime it was a three on three.

When it came to the shootout Jack Eichel for Vegas Golden Knights scored the only goal in the shootout. Vegas improves their record to eight o and one. Vegas Golden Knights next game will be on Monday October 30th 2023 where they will face off against the Montreal Canadiens in Vegas puck drops at seven pm pacific time
