Week 11: Cardinals at Texans

Texans 21 – Cardinals 16

Texans

Hello NFL fans, I watched my Texans take on the the Arizona Cardinals at NRG stadium. It was a tale of two halves.

Kyler Murray wasted no time to put the Cardinals on top. After a Texans penalty Murray threw a beautiful 48 yard touchdown pass to Rondale Moore to make it 7-0 early first quarter.

With the second Texans drive of the the day, CJ Stroud found Dalton Shultz for a sliding touchdown. I don’t remember ever seeing a play like this. Shultz seemed to catch the ball low to the ground and slid about 3 yards to cross the goal line to make it 7-7.

The Cardinals used James Connor on the ground today very well. Connor and Murray make a good duo. The Cardinals showed some trickery with a few plays. Murray used his legs when he had to. Even after Will Anderson Jr sacked Murray, the Cards Kicker Matt Prader hit a 57 yard field goal at the end of the first quarter.

To start the new quarter the Texans ran the ball well through Devon Singletary. Devon had back to back 100 yard games. CJ trusted Singletary with the hand off up the middle and he powered his way for a score.

The Cardinals and Texans would go on to trade interceptions. Kyler Murray threw a pick on his first play in the second quarter. Newly activated Derek Stingley Jr made the interception for Houston. With the Texans next drive CJ matched Murray with an interception of his own. This time into the end zone.

CJ Stroud had a short memory as he led the offense down the field with all of their timeouts left. With 34 seconds left in the half, Stroud threw a perfect 40 yard touchdown pass to Tank Dell. We go to halftime after a failed hail mary pass from Murray.

As I said earlier, it was a tale of 2 halves. The Texans missed a field goal on their first drive of the 3rd quarter, and you could feel the momentum changing. Although, shout out to the Texans defense. They came through today. The defense shut down the Cardinals on 4th down, 3 times.

It was the first time Stroud had 3 picks in one game going back to college. CJ didn’t let that get to him.

Kyler Murray and the his defense had one last chance to drive the field. Remember the Texans had not scored since the end of the second quarter. The Cardinals drove down to the Houston 34 yard line. After the 2 minute warning Kyler Murray threw a screen pass to James Connor for a 5 yard loss. Murray had his next 2 passes broken up. On 4th and 8 Steven Nelson batted Murray’s pass away. Another turnover on downs for the Cardinals and the Texans win their third straight game.

Give the Texans defense credit. They stopped Murray and Connor when they needed to. They had 3 sacks and turnovers today. CJ was still good today. He and Dell have a great connection. Next week the Jaguars come to Houston. Can the Texans go 2-0 against Jacksonville plus have a 4 game winning streak? I can’t wait to see. Have a happy Thanksgiving.
