Packers Recap- Week 5: Las Vegas Raiders 17 – Green Bay Packers 13

The game between the Green Bay Packers and the Las Vegas Raiders took place on Monday, October 9, 2023, at 5:15 PM at Allegiant Stadium. The game can also be labeled as Maxx Crosby Vs The Packers offensive line and Coach Matt LaFleur’s offensive play calls.

In the game against the Green Bay Packers, Maxx and Double X Crosby of the Las Vegas Raiders had a standout performance. He finished with a season-high 4.0 tackles for loss. Crosby wreaked havoc on a battered Green Bay offensive line, David Bakhtari out for the season again. M. Crosby forced quarterback Jordan Love into an increasingly jumpy mindset while tallying five tackles (four for loss), four pressures, three run blocks and a sack.

His four QB pressures tied for the team lead with DE Malcolm Koonce. His four tackles for loss were made all the more impressive by the fact that the rest of Las Vegas combined for just one. It was Crosby’s 19th career game with multiple tackles for loss, second most in the NFL since 2019 behind only the Steelers’ T.J. Watt (21). Crosby, who now has four more sacks than any other teammate, delivered his fifth of the season at a crucial time. Needless to say Maxx Crosby was a terror all evening.

The Packers offense was mediocre as #33 Aaron Jones would sit out with an injury lingering from week 1 vs Da Bears. Aj Dillon would carry the rock for 76 yards and one touchdown. #1 Love oh wait Jordan Love had 182 yards passing and 37 rushing yards with one of those runs for a 1st down. Now Musgrave would be targeted 7 times and have 6 of those for receptions for a total of 34 yards. The struggling WR core was #9 Christian Watson and # 11 Jayden Reed with Watson gaining 91 yards receiving on 3 receptions. J. Reed has 7 yards on 11 receptions that is less than 2 yards a reception. Definitely won’t get the job done.

On black hole side of the pigskin. Jimmy G would throw for 208 yards, 1 TD and FOUR rushing yards. Jakobi Meyers and Josh Jacobs combined for 2 TDs. Meyers had 75 yards on 7 receptions, 1 TD and Jacobs ran for 69 yards with receiving yards of 20 on 5 receptions also 1 TD. Davante Adams came up a bit short on 4 receptions for 76 yards and no TDs.

The Raiders snapped a three-game losing streak after picking off Jordan Love three times in the win over the Packers. The Raiders’ defense was critical to their victory. Linebacker #41 Robert Spillane had just one career interception before Monday night and intercepted Green Bay’s Jordan Love twice. Cornerback #21 Amik Robertson received just his second start in five games this season and made the game-sealing pick in the end zone to stop a three-game skid.

The final score would be Raiders 17 and The Pack with 13. Packers defense is again struggling to stop the run and offense is dealing with injuries and getting an identity. Should Joe Barry (DC) be replaced? Should Coach Matt LaFleur  give the play calling up? But on any given Sunday, Monday or Thursday “Go Pack Go”!!!!!
