FAU football Owls wide receiver Je’Quan Burton sat down with AJ Johnson and Nick the Flick on The Bleacher Brothers Show for an exclusive interview and look into Redshirt Senior’s life, daily routine, and what drives him to succeed at the highest levels.

Je’Quan Burton Highlights & Stats

Redshirt Senior (2023)

  • Listed on the Summer’s Freak List, making his second appearance
  • In the season opener, versus Monmouth, he collected the past each of the three times he was targeted, for a total of 56 yard, earning 42 after the catch. His longest of the day ended, a 35-yarder, was one of his two scores
  • Injured on the first offensive play of the Ohio game
  • Made a return to action versus Illinois and with a start. recorded five catches for a total of 54 yards and was credited with a 21-yard kick return

Redshirt Junior (2022)

  • Recorded two receptions for a total of 36 yards and added two rushing yards in the Owls 43-13 win over Charlotte
  • Had a team leading 115 yards among 5 catches, including one for a touchdown at Ohio
  • Returned to action with three carries for a total of 19 yards in the UCF contest
  • Second on the team with 49 receiving yards, on two receptions versus Purdue
  • Collected six passes for 61 yards at UNT
  • Credited with two receptions for a total of 19 yards versus Rice
  • Worked the UTEP game as one of the five consistent o-line starters
  • Had two receptions for a total of 55 yards and score on of the team’s three scores in UAB win
  • Led the Owls with five receptions, totaling 42 yards, and including a score in the Owls’ Shula Bowl XXI victory
  • Second on the team with 94 yards, but did so on just three receptions and added two kick returns adding up to 30 return yards for the Owls at Middle Tennessee
  • Recorded three receptions for a total of 27 yards versus WK

Redshirt Sophomore (2021)

  • Targeted twice and collected a 13-yard reception at Florida, also added a special teams tackle
  • Hauled in a 50-yard touchdown pass versus Georgia Southern
  • Recorded two catches for a total of 11 yards in the Owls’ 45-14 win over Fordham
  • Had two receptions that tallied 28 yards, his longest was a 14-yarder, and he added a 20 yard kick return versus Air Force
  • Led all receivers when he tallied the season’s second 100+ yard game with 121 yards on seven catches and a score in the 2021 Shula Bowl victory over FIU
  • Caught two of the four passes thrown his way for a total of 40 yards, including 14 after UAB contact and had a 20 yard kick return
  • Started and led the Owls with two receptions totaling 78 yards in FAU’s 38-9 road win over Charlotte
  • Targeted four times by quarterback N’Kosi Perry and had a two yard run in FAU’s 28-25 win over UTEP
  • Charged with minus eight yards versus Marshall on a game ending lateral play and had a nine-yard kick return
  • Sought out a team high five times at ODU and collected two receptions for a total of 22 yards and had a personal season high six kick returns for a total of 147 yards, including a long of 32 yards
  • Led the Owl receivers with seven catches for a total of 80 yards at WKU and added four kick returns totaling 67 yards also had a solo tackle
  • Had a 48-yard catch and run for a score in the Owls’ opening drive versus MT and was charged with a 14 yard loss on a pass attempt that went down as a sack

At Iowa Central (2020)

  • Member of the Fall 2020 Dean’s List, with a 3.6 GPA
  • Earned his associate’s degree

At Southern Illinois (2018-19)

  • Played two years for the Salukis, including four games as a sophomore
  • His first year in Carbondale, was a member of the MVFC All-Newcomer Team
  • Played in all 11 games, with 613 all-purpose yards (105 rushing, 139 receiving, 30 PR, 339 KR)
  • Averaged 24.2 yards on kickoff returns, including a 100-yard touchdown on the opening KO of the season finale, against North Dakota State
  • Had a 20-yard receiving TD among his 11 catches, coming against Western Illinois
  • Best game at wideout came against Southeast Missouri, with five catches for 91 yards, including a season-long 35-yarder
  • Also had three special teams tackles

High School

  • Ranked No. 9 on Sun Sentinel Central Florida Super60, and No. 44 in the publication’s statewide Top 100
  • Named First Team All-State by FloridaHSFootball.com
  • As a senior, caught 31 passes for 551 yards with nine TD
  • Jones went 10-3-1 his final season
  • The year prior, had 29 receptions, 439 yards and five scores
