NBA Playoffs Preview: Rd 1 The Warriors vs The Kings

First round NBA Playoff action in the Western Conference has the 3 seed Sacramento Kings (48-34) and the 6 seed Golden State Warriors (44-38). 

This is the first ever matchup between these two teams in the playoffs. This will be the Kings first time in the playoffs since the 2005-2006 season. The Kings coach is former associate head coach of the Warriors Mike Brown. Mike Brown is also a former Cavaliers, and Lakers coach. Brown and the Kings snapped a 17 year playoff drought this season.

These teams played 4 times during the regular season with Golden State winning 3 out of the 4.  In the four games in the regular season the Kings averaged 114.2 points per game. The defending Champion Warriors averaged 120 points per game. 

Key Stats:. The Sacramento Kings averaged the following  120.7 points per game, 42.5 rebounds per game and 27.3 Assists per game. 

The Golden State Warriors averaged 118.9 points per game, 44.6 rebounds per game , and assists per game was 29.8. 

Some of the key players to watch for on the Sacramento Kings:  De’Aaron Fox in 73 games he averaged 25.0 points per game. Another shooter to watch on the Kings is Domantas Sabonis he averaged 19.1 points per game. As for players with rebounds for the Kings, their key rebounders are Domantas Sabonis; he averages 12.3 rebounds and he is the only player with double figures. 

For the Golden State Warriors their key players to watch are: Stephen Curry in 56 games Curry is averaging 29.4 points per game. Another scorer that Golden State has is Klay Thompson is averaging 21.9 points per game.  In case you didn’t know – Klay Thompson is, he is the brother of current Dodger player Trayce Thompson. The last person to average 20.0+ plus points for the Warriors is Jordan Poole in 82 games he averages 20.4 points per game. Some of the Golden State Warriors key rebounders to watch for is  Kevon Looney in 82 games he averages 9.3 rebounds per game. Draymond Green in 73 games averaged 7.2 rebounds per game.

The pros believe that the Warriors will win  in 6 games. The odds for both teams are as follows: Warriors -290 and Kings +225. 

Game 1 tip off for these two teams it will be 8:30PM EST and 5:30 PST. On Saturday.  We will see the battle of the northern California teams and only one will win it.
