Tuesday 5/14/24 – Parx Race 6

We stay in Bensalem for today’s QPW as we will once again look at the sixth race, and this race is eerily similar to the conditions of yesterday’s race. On Monday, we had fillies and mares who were $5000 claimers who had not won two races in six months going a mile. Today, we have another $5000 claiming race here at Parx, but today, we have non-winners of a race in the last six months going seven furlongs on the main track.

The 5 Gavichi (8/5 morning line) is favored here and returns after a four-month break. She’s coming off the first layoff after three years, though you have to really search to find that information. She runs like clockwork every few weeks to a month. She could be on the lead like she was in her last race in January, or she could be just off of the early pace. She is going to give everything she has though she may not be what she used to be.

The 2 Liplock had a nice effort here two weeks ago in these same conditions. She started out slowly, but still finished well though she was still 8 lengths behind the winner. The program said she was steadied last time out, but I couldn’t find it. She could win this today with a better start. But I do want to see her on the turf here once the turf course opens in a couple of weeks.

The 7 She’s Got Game (3/1 ML) showed nothing last time out but that was first race back after a five-month break and running at Parx for the first time in a long time. She’s going to gun for the lead from the outside post here, but if she doesn’t get the lead, she will probably finish last.

The 4 Anna Rocks (5/1 ML) was scratched in the Monday finale to run today. She shortens up to seven furlongs after many trips around two turns. She drops from $10k claimers and looks to get back on track here.

Once again, we have a tough race to figure out here with these bottom claimers. I will try to beat the morning line favorite here with Liplock. I think she will get the better start here and win this race. Let’s call this 2-5-7-4 and my play is $20 to win on the 2.

Good luck everyone! Also, check my show out “Also Eligible” on Saturday mornings at 10 am Eastern/7 am Pacific as AJ Johnson and I discuss the big races, the latest news in horse racing and much more!
