Verstappen fastest in Final Practice

Third Practice Information

Max Verstappen set the pace in the third practice and final one of the weekend for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, as the Kick Sauber’s of Zhou Guanyu suffered a hefty crash bringing out the red flag.

Key things from the Practice

Reigning champion Max Verstappen bolted on a set of soft tyres Verstappen just used two sets of the red walled tyres during the hour session and had a time on the clock of one minute 28 seconds point 412.

That was 0.146 seconds clear of the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc also has a temporary teammate for the race weekend of Oliver Bearman standing in for the driver of Carlos Sainz who was to have an appendicitis issue. Bearman who will be starting from the pole on the F2 race this weekend for the Prema before relinquishing the role of being the interim driver.

Sergio Perez made it two Red Bulls in the top three but he was only 0.3 seconds off of Leclerc and nearly a half second off his teammate.

Zhou caused a stoppage for around ten minutes when he lost control of the car and hit the barriers in turn seven and caused significant damage to his car.

Sauber is now racing against the clock to get the car repaired so it can take part of the qualifying session later on during the Friday night session.

When the session got back under way, George Russell of the Mercedes improved his time to become fourth quickest and his teammate Lewis Hamilton in ninth place. Making George Russell the leading Mercedes car.

The Alpine team is showing tons of improvement from the race last week from Baharan making it 12th and 14th respectively.

After this final practice is in the books qualifying will be up and it will set the grid for the race for Saturday night.
