Top Esports, T1 qualify for next stage at Mid-Season Invitational

Top Esports and T1 advanced Friday to the bracket stage of the League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational 2024 in Chengdu, China.

In the upper-bracket finals of the play-in stage, Top Esports defeated Fnatic 2-1 and T1 swept FlyQuest.

Top Esports won the opener and Fnatic followed with a victory to even the match, with both winning in 29 minutes on blue. Top’s triumph in the decider also came on blue.

T1 dominated with an 18-minute win on blue and a 28-minute victory on red.

FlyQuest and Fnatic moved to the lower bracket finals, seeking qualification into the next round.

FlyQuest awaits the winner of Saturday’s semifinal between Estral Esports and PSG Talon. Next up for Fnatic is the victor of the semifinal clash between LOUD and GAM Esports.

The $250,000 tournament began Wednesday with 12 teams competing for a $50,000 grand prize. The play-in stage concludes on Sunday, with the bracket stage opening Tuesday.
