Rolly Romero And Isaac Cruz Tear Into One Another Ahead Of Bout

Rolly Romero and Isaac Cruz are preparing to step into the boxing ring on Saturday, March 30th. With the fight beginning to inch closer, we got to witness the two fighters sit down at a press conference, and they made sure to toss verbal insults at one another the entire time.

Romero in particular started to go off early on. He said, “He’s not that unique. I fight guys like him all the time. This has probably been the easiest time I’ve ever had finding sparring in my life. He can be replicated, I can’t. My style goes hand in hand with my personality, it’s unique.” He also said that he’s going to knock Cruz out and that he also gets “hit with everything”. As for Cruz, he said, “First thing’s first, I want to shut Rolly’s loud mouth up and take the belt away from him. Then I’m going after all the best fighters in the division.” Not long after, he said, “I’m not about to underestimate or overlook anybody. He’s had his success for a reason. I’m just getting ready to shut his mouth punch by punch and make him talk a little less. I hope he fights the way he talks on March 30th.”

Rolly Romero Looking To Keep His Belt

This fight is going to be a co-main event next to the battle of Tim Tszyu and Keith Thurman. Romero currently has the title of WBA super lightweight and doesn’t want to lose that here against Cruz. Romero had to take down Ismael Barroso in the ninth round with a TKO in order to obtain possession of the belt. Meanwhile, Cruz has won three straight fights including a devastating second-round victory against Eduardo Ramirez.

Cruz said, “This fight is everything for me. Winning this fight is the key to opening the door to all of the big fights in the sport.” Romero on the other hand said, “I know the Mexican fans are gonna be riding with him, but no matter what, it’s gonna be a spectacular fight and fireworks for sure.” This is going to be one incredibly exciting matchup when they square off at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
