Former UFC fighter Francis Ngannou has been ranked No. 10 in the heavyweight division by the WBC on Wednesday after his split decision loss to champion Tyson Fury in his pro boxing debut last month.

On Oct. 28th Ngannou, faced Fury in a non-title bout in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, narrowly losing after scoring a third round knockdown against the undefeated WBC champion.

One judge scored the fight 95-94 for Ngannou but was overruled by scores of 96-93 and 95-94 for Fury. Tyson Fury’s WBC heavyweight title wasn’t on the line in the 10-round bout. Ngannou was making his pro boxing debut and fighting for the first time since Jan. 2022.

Fury was listed as a -1400 favorite to win the fight. His next fight will be for the undisputed heavyweight championship against Oleksandr Usyk.
