DAZN just recently announced another boxing match that’s going to be taking place on June 29th, and the expectations are already through the roof. We are going to get the privilege of watching Juan Francisco Estrada take on Jesse Rodriguez with a title on the line.
Estrada has built up quite an astonishing name for himself in the boxing world. He’s built up a record of 44-3 with 28 knockouts up to this point. He’s also got the current hold of the WBC and Ring Magazine world super-flyweight titles. Both of these will need to be defended against an undefeated Jesse Rodriguez with a 19-0 record and 12 knockouts. The two great fighters will square off at Footprint Center over in Phoenix, Arizona.
Estrada hasn’t gotten into the ring since he was able to beat Roman Gonzalez in the third and final part of their trilogy. He edged out a win there by majority decision. What better way to ride the momentum than to go up against a young boxer that’s rapidly rising up the ranks. Rodriguez, otherwise known as “Bam”, last fought on December 16th, 2023. He was able to beat Sunny Edwards that night.

When the news broke, Estrada talked about this upcoming matchup, saying, “I will be more than ready since I know Rodriguez is a dangerous fighter, but in June it will be clear that there is plenty of ‘Gallo’ excitement to come.” As for his opponent, Rodriguez said, “Fighting for my fourth world title against a legend like ‘Gallo’ is huge. This is a fight I’ve been wanting for a while and I’m ready to prove myself once again.”
There’s not going to be any shortage of excitement in the arena on June 29th, because these two phenomenal boxers will be sure to blow the roof off the building. It’s just like promoter Eddie Hearn said about this fight, “When the best fight the best, excitement is guaranteed.” It definitely feels like that’s going to be the case once again when we see them go toe-to-toe.
