Dan Hooker Eyes Next Opponent, Thinks It Could Be Easy Money

Dan Hooker has been looking over his options and has a few fighters that he might want to square off with next. We haven’t seen Hooker in the Octagon since he broke his arm against Jalin Turner during International Fight Week last year. Now, he’s looking to get back out there during International Fight Week again for UFC 303.

Hooker made sure to point out that he’d prefer to fight Beneil Dariush. This comes not long after Dariush seemed to be interested in the fight himself. Hooker said, “I will punch Beneil Dariush’s head clean off his shoulders there’s no doubt about it. That would be my top pick, but he’s been very quiet about shooting his shot, I’m not sure if that’s a date he’s willing to commit to. If I get a contract through, I’ll sign that in about two seconds.” The “date” that Hooker is referring to is UFC 303, because he’s looking to get into a fight for that event.

If the Dariush fight doesn’t work out, no worries. Hooker went on to say that Renato Moicano would be another option on his list. He said, “If Beneil doesn’t want it, Moicano called me easy money, brother you’re the easiest money I’ve ever seen in my life you chinless scumbag, I’d come for him in a heartbeat.” The downside of this potential fight is that Moicano might not even be ready to get into the Octagon by the time June rolls around. Moicano last fought at UFC 300, beating Jalin Turner in what wound up being a huge comeback. To this possibility, Hooker said, “I don’t think he’ll be good to go by June, I think we might have to wake him up.”

It’s been a difficult road for Hooker in the past year during his rehabilitation. There was a brief time when he got a fight scheduled against Bobby Green back in December. However, that fight wound up seeing him get ruled out due to a reoccurrence of his injury.
