Phillies – Braves NLDS Recap

Nick Castellanos became the first player to hit multiple homers in consecutive postseason games. Trea Turner singled twice, doubled and hit a solo homer. Ranger Suarez and the best bullpen in baseball held the best offensive team in the majors to a single run. That is Red October.

With Thursday’s 3-1 victory, the Phillies clinched the NLDS on the back of Nick Castellanos’ monster two-homes, and they knocked the NL East champion Atlanta Braves out of the playoffs for the second year in a row. Philadelphia will once again head to the National League Championship Series, where they’ll face off against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Nick Castellanos evened up the score for the Phillies in the bottom half of the fourth with an absolute moon shot home run to left.

Trea Turner, proving worth every penny paid to him, gave the Phillies their first lead of the game in the bottom of the fifth when he blasted a solo homer to left field.
