Terence Crawford has gotten locked in for his next fight after the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Entertainment Authority announced the news. It’s reported that Crawford will take on Israil Madrimov for both the WBA and WBO interim World Super-Welterweight title. The fight is scheduled to take place on August 3rd and should be held in Los Angeles.

Terence Crawford Is Unbelievable

Crawford is one of the most talented boxers around right now. He has a career record of 40-0 with 31 knockouts to his name. He’s hoping to become a four-weight world champion with another victory here. We’ve seen Crawford dominate the super lightweight, and lightweight divisions in the past. Most recently, he became the undisputed champion at 147lbs after knocking out Errol Spence. And now, he’s moving to 154lb in the welterweight division.

Flipping over to his opponent, Madrimov hasn’t had as much experience. He’s got a career professional record of 10-0-1 with seven knockouts. Madrimov fought for a vacant title against Magomed Kurbanov in March and was dominant in the victory. He’s going to attempt and defend his newfound title for the first time against Crawford. There’s no question that a win over a superstar boxer like Crawford could catapult him up in popularity. After all, he couldn’t have found a tougher opponent.

When speaking to Crawford about his newly announced fight, he said, “I cannot wait to get back in the ring in my fourth weight class and remind the world why I’m the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. Israil Madrimov is a tremendous and entertaining fighter, but on August 3rd, he will be my next victim.” If we get to bear witness to another title being awarded to Crawford in another division, his greatness will be unquestionable.
