Both Norchad Omier and Wooga Poplar are leaving Miami behind and entering the transfer portal, multiple reports said Thursday.
Omier and Poplar were multi-year starters at Miami and both helped the Hurricanes make a run to the Final Four in 2023.
A 6-foot-7 forward, Omier averaged 17.0 points and 10.0 rebounds over 31 starts last season, earning a second-team All-ACC selection. He has career averages of 15.2 points and 11.0 rebounds in 120 career games (117 starts) across two seasons at Arkansas State and two at Miami.
A 6-foot-5 guard, Poplar put up career highs of 13.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 2023-24, his third season at Miami. He shot 38.5 percent from 3-point range. Poplar has averaged 7.7 points and 3.1 boards over 100 career games (65 starts).
Omier and Poplar are the seventh and eighth Miami players to enter the portal this cycle.
–Wisconsin guard Chucky Hepburn has committed to transfer to Louisville, several outlets reported.
Hepburn was a Big Ten All-Freshman selection in 2022 and a Big Ten All-Defensive Team honoree this past season, when he averaged 9.2 points, 3.9 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game.
Hepburn’s best offensive season came in 2022-23, when he averaged 12.2 ppg while shooting 40.5 percent from 3-point range. In 103 career games (all starts) for the Badgers, Hepburn has put up 9.8 points, 3.0 assists and 2.8 rebounds per contest.
–Seton Hall guard Kadary Richmond is hitting the portal, according to several reports.
Richmond was a first-team All-Big East selection after averaging 15.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 2.2 steals — all career bests — in 35 games (34 starts).
Over one season at Syracuse and three at Seton Hall, Richmond has put up 10.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.9 steals per contest in 122 games (88 starts).
–Butler guard Posh Alexander is heading to the portal for the second time in as many years.
Alexander joined Butler last offseason after three years at St. John’s. In his lone campaign for the Bulldogs, he put up 11.3 points, 4.9 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 2.2 steals across 32 games, all starts.
In 116 career games (109 starts) in his four seasons, Alexander has averaged 11.6 points, 4.7 assists, 4.1 boards and 2.3 steals.
–Trazarien White, a high-scoring forward from UNC Wilmington, is reportedly testing the portal.
On his way to first-team All-CAA honors, White set career highs with 19.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game in 2023-24, his third season at Wilmington. His 3-point shooting rose from 28.2 percent the year before to 39 percent.
He has averaged 13.5 points and 5.8 rebounds over 96 career games (77 starts) in college.
–Ohio State center Felix Okpara is transferring to Tennessee, the university announced.
The native of Nigeria is coming off his second season in Columbus, where he set personal bests of 6.6 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.4 blocked shots per game. In 70 career games (45 starts) for the Buckeyes, Okpara has averaged 5.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.8 blocks.
–Illinois-Chicago wing Toby Okani is heading to West Virginia, his agency announced on social media.
Okani scored a career-high 11.1 points per game this past season, his second for the Flames after two years at Duquesne. He also set personal bests on defense by tallying 2.0 blocks and 1.5 steals per contest to go with 6.8 rebounds.
In 113 career games (87 starts) between Duquesne and UIC, Okani has posted 8.2 points, 5.5 boards, 1.2 blocks and 1.0 steals per game.
