Sainz wins at Australia

First win of a non Red Bull Team this season

Just over two weeks after Carlos Sainz missed the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix due to appendicitis surgery he ended up pulling off the victory with the Red Bull of Max Verstappen having a technical trouble that made Verstappen retire the car. Verstappen retried the car at the end of the third lap and before the race Verstappen changed the power unit before the qualifying session.

This made it that Verstappen had three more times to change it to not cost him a grid spot penalty. Then later on for Verstappen things got worse for him the brakes got bad for him then smoke from the rear of the car put him in the pits to retire the car for the first time in two years.

Sainz was really strong without Verstappen on the track and he was able to make a lead over Lando Norris, his teammate Charles Leclerc and hometown favorite Oscar Piastri.

Sainz

This one two for Ferrari is the first one since the opening of the 2022 season. The sole Red Bull of Sergio Perez ended the race finishing fifth place.

Towards the end of the race George Russell was trying to battle for a position with Fernando Alonso but Russell lost it and hit the wall, crashed and landing on it side making the end of the race a visual safety car.

Despite this crash by Russell it gave both Aston Martin’s points also giving Yuki Tsunoda some points for the RB team and both Haas drivers Nico Hulkenberg in ninth and Kevin Magnussen in 10th place giving the American team a double points finish.
