Scuilla’s Sharp, College Football Bets of Week 4:

The college football week 4 slate is a good one, below I will give my favorite bets for this weekend. Last week I went 4-1, with wins from Miami spread, Boston College spread, Illinois spread, Alabama spread, and a loss from Arizona spread. This week there are some bets I am very confident in, with some parlay potential. Let’s get into it.

Scuilla’s Sharp College Football Bets Week 4

Tulane -2.5 vs Louisiana Lafayette:

Tulane is one of the best teams in the American Athletic Conference, true freshman Darian Mensah is for real and he has weapons all around him. Tulane had Kansas State beat, but made a few mistakes two weeks ago and put up a fight in Norman against Oklahoma. Jon Sumrall is a very good coach, and winning this game in Louisiana is paramount for his program. ULL is no pushover however, they have a lot of talent and depth. They also are at home, but I personally think they are outmatched in this one

Army -6 vs Rice:

This is my favorite bet of the slate. This is the best Army team I have seen in a few years, and this is the worst Rice team I have seen in recent years. Rice is a poor run defending team, while Army’s bread and butter is using that triple option to run all over teams. Army is at home and is coming off a bye week, give me Army -6 all day.

Utah State -6.5 vs Temple:

Temple might be the worst college football program in the nation, they showed some life against Coastal Carolina but still lost by 8 points. Utah State put up a good fight against Utah, and is hungry for a win after two losses back to back. I’ll take Utah State by a touchdown with pretty good confidence.

Illinois +8.5 vs Nebraska:

This is going to be a great game, both teams are ranked and it is B10 conference play. I like both teams this year, but 8.5 is too many points for my liking. Illinois is well coached especially on defense, they could give freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola problems. I do see Nebraska as a better team, but not better by 9 points.

Virginia Tech -3.5 vs Rutgers:

Rutgers has not been tested this year at all, they have a good core and are well coached but will have a big test. Virginia Tech lost a heartbreaking overtime game against Vanderbilt week one, but has since beat up on some respectable Sun Belt opponents. I would move the spread down to -2.5 if you have the opportunity.

Miami -800 ML vs USF

I understand there is no value on this bet, but I don’t see a scenario where Miami craps the bed in this one. This is the best Miami team we have seen since the early 2000s, I do not think USF has the passing game or defense to keep up in this one. Miami will not be phased by the crowd as well, they completely shut up the swamp. I would think about taking their spread, but there are a lot of points to have to cover.

Memphis -350 ML vs Navy

This Memphis team is on a mission, what is their mission? To win the American Athletic Conference championship and make the college football playoff. Navy is at home and looked good in both of their games, but Memphis is a different animal to game plan against than Temple and Bucknell.
