Cleveland Guardians at Detroit Tigers (Series Tied 1-1)
Alex Cobb vs. Keider Montero (0-0)
Tigers Moneyline
The Tigers after four games on the road finally get their chance to host a postseason game. This is the first time in over a decade that Detroit has hosted a postseason baseball game, and they’ll want to remember it on a high note. With Keider Montero on the mound and a rested bullpen, we’re going with the Tigers on the moneyline in game three.
Tigers Player Props: Kerry Carpenter Over 0.5 Hits (-185 FanDuel), Colt Keith Over 0.5 Hits, Keider Montero Under 1.5 Earned Runs
Alex Cobb has only made a few starts this season, and his sample size of at bats against the Tigers is small. To find player props for today, we’re looking towards Tigers hitters who do great against right handed pitching as well as against Cleveland pitching.
This gives us two hit props in Kerry Carpenter and Colt Keith. While both don’t hold the best value, these two have great numbers against right handed pitching and against Cleveland. Colt Keith hits near .300 against Cleveland pitching and after going hitless all postseason, is due for a hit today.
Carpenter coming off of his massive game winning home run against Emmanuel Clase is another pick for today to get a hit. He hits .305 against right handed pitching, and should look to stay hot at the plate after his big game two.
We’ll see how long AJ Hinch has Keider Montero go in this game three, but against Cleveland he’s been solid. In 27 total at bats, the Guardians hit .148 against Montero, making his under 1.5 earned runs prop our final player prop pick for the Tigers.
Philadelphia Phillies at New York Mets (NYM Lead 2-1)
Ranger Suarez vs. Jose Quintana (0-0)
Mets Moneyline
After a huge game three win for the Mets, they have the chance to knock off their division rival to advance to the NLCS. Carlos Mendoza has all the arms he could ever possibly need to get through this game if Jose Quintana can’t go the distance after Sean Manaea’s impressive game three start.
While the Mets don’t hit the best against Ranger Suarez, the New York bullpen can turn to arms like Edwin Diaz, Reed Garrett, and maybe even Kodai Senga or David Peterson to get them out of trouble. The pitching advantage makes the Mets the pick to close out the series tonight.
Mets Player Props: Jose Iglesias Over 0.5 Singles, Francisco Lindor Over 1.5 Total Bases, Starling Marte Over 0.5 Hits
Jose Iglesias hits incredibly well against Ranger Suarez and is on a three game hit streak with four singles. He doesn’t hit for much power, and if he does record a hit today, there again is far better value here taking a single than the hit line.
In a possible series winning game for New York, the superstars have to come to play. Francisco Lindor has been pivotal in the two wins for the Mets in this series delivering key at bats to get on base for Mark Vientos’ big hits. He hits .313 against Ranger Suarez with a pair of extra base hits. At plus odds, we’ll take his over 1.5 total base prop.
While he hasn’t produced much this postseason, Starling Marte is coming off of a night with a huge two-RBI single. With a .316 batting average against Ranger Suarez, Marte to record a hit tonight is the final prop pick for this game.
New York Yankees at Kansas City Royals (Series Tied 1-1)
Clarke Schmidt vs. Seth Lugo (0-0)
Over 8 Runs Scored
The Yankees offense has been very quiet despite taking a game one win. Aaron Judge needs to elevate his game tonight as he knows there has never been more eyes on him to contribute. The Royals hitters historically against Clarke Schmidt have hit for a .314 batting average in 51 at bats, making it look like there’s runs to be scored tonight.
Player Props: Gleyber Torres Over 0.5 Singles, Aaron Judge Over 1.5 Total Bases, Maikel Garcia Over 0.5 Hits
Against Seth Lugo, Gleyber Torres has pretty good numbers with a .273 batting average in 11 at bats. Every hit recorded against Lugo from Torres has been a single, and we’re following that trend by taking him to get a single in this game three.
This could be a rather gusty pick with how poorly he’s been performing this postseason but Aaron Judge is due. He has no hits against Seth Lugo, but if he wants to give his team the best shot at winning he needs to perform. At plus odds, we’ll take Judge to record at least two total bases.
After his four hit night in game two, we’re taking Maikel Garcia to get another hit today. With a .375 batting average against Clarke Schmidt, he’s in great position to stay hot at the plate.
Los Angeles Dodgers at San Diego Padres (SD Leads 2-1)
TBA vs. Dylan Cease (0-0)
Padres Moneyline
The Padres are now in the driver’s seat for game four at Petco Park. They have their ace on the mound in Dylan Cease, and after his short start in game one will undoubtedly look to bounce back to take San Diego to the NLCS. The way the offense has performed the last couple of games, the Padres are in great position to take this series tonight.
Player Props: Fernando Tatis Jr. Over 2.5 Total Bases & Freddie Freeman Over 0.5 Singles
It’s been nothing short of a monster postseason for Fernando Tatis Jr. He leads San Diego in near every offensive category this postseason, and has delivered so many big hits including four home runs. We’re going to keep tailing Tatis to record this over as there is no better hitter right now in this postseason.
Freddie Freeman hits very well against Dylan Cease, with a .455 batting average but ankle discomfort will make it tough for him to leg out extra base hits. For that reason, we’ll take Freeman to record a single with better value.
