After taking game one in their series against the Houston Astros, the Seattle Mariners now sit a game and a half back from the final American League Wildcard spot. This second game is another pivotal one with plenty of postseason implications and for that, here’s a three-leg same game parlay to tail while watching.
Seattle Mariners at Houston Astros
Logan Gilbert (8-11) vs. Framber Valdez (14-7)
3-Leg SGP: Framber Valdez u18.5 Outs, Julio Rodriguez Over 0.5 Hits and Justin Turner Over 0.5 Hits
There haven’t been many starting pitchers better in the second half than Astros left hander Framber Valdez. With 75% of the public on Valdez and the Astros tonight, the first leg of this SGP fades the public taking Valdez to go under the 18.5 out total.
While some books have this line set at 17.5, if you can get the 18.5 line take it, as the Mariners have good numbers against Valdez. In 186 total at bats, the Mariners hit for a slashline of .306/.377/.495 with an OPS of .871. He’s gone under the 18.5 out line in both starts against Seattle this season, and he could very well go under again tonight.
With a pitcher on the mound notorious for giving up ground ball contact in Framber Valdez, the final two legs of this SGP are Mariners hit props. For the first, after a three hit and two RBI night, Julio Rodriguez is again a pick for today. Although today all that’s needed is a hit, and with 16 hits in his last 35 at bats, he should stay hot against Valdez and the Astros.
The second hit prop and the final leg to tonight’s SGP is Justin Turner to record at least one hit. In eight at bats against Valdez, Turner has four hits and is coming into tonight’s game looking to keep a four game hit streak alive. The right hander similar to Rodriguez should be in prime position to stay hot at the plate tonight.

With three home runs against Michael King in his career, Ohtani could be due for another long ball tonight.
Kansas City Royals at Washington Nationals
Cole Ragans (11-9) vs. Mitchell Parker (7-10)
Cole Ragans Under 4.5 Hits Allowed
The Royals have hit a rough stretch here when they needed it the least. They are 0-5 in their last five games, but have a great opportunity to get back on track with Cole Ragans on the mound tonight.
Ragans has continued to put together quality starts for the Royals, and is hot with a 1.42 ERA in the month of September. Opponents in the month of September against Ragans have had a .175 batting average, and he hasn’t given up more than four hits in a start since the middle of August.
With Kansas City trying to maintain their position for a Wildcard spot, Ragans putting together a quality start and limiting hits is much needed tonight.
