New York Mets at Philadelphia Phillies (NYM Leads 1-0)
Luis Severino (1-0) vs. Christopher Sanchez
First 5 Innings Over 4.5 Runs Scored
After a brutal loss late in the opening game of this NLDS for the Phillies, they’ll want to come out hot with the bats. The Mets will look to carry on their offensive success from last night early into game one, and hope that Luis Severino can shut down the Philadelphia batting order.
Both offenses don’t collectively have amazing numbers against the starting pitching, but after a bad loss for Philly and the Mets, hungry as ever runs should be scored early.
Mets Player Props: Brandon Nimmo Over 0.5 Singles, Francisco Lindor Over 1.5 Total Bases & Luis Severino Over 15.5 Outs
A bat that’s been consistently producing for this Mets lineup is Brandon Nimmo. He’s riding a seven game hit streak coming into this game two, and was huge in New York’s win yesterday giving them insurance late in the game.
Against Sanchez, Nimmo hits .308 with no extra base hits. When Nimmo hits he usually doesn’t hit for much power making the line at over 0.5 a single a better play than the hit line.
While he didn’t obtain a hit last night, Francisco Lindor has great numbers against Christopher Sanchez. Lindor hit .333 with a pair of walks against the Philadelphia right hander, and is due for a big game today making the over on his 1.5 total base line another pick.
The final Mets prop for this game is Luis Severino to go over 15.5 outs. Since September Severino has been great, going at least six innings pitched in every start but one. Even if the Philadelphia batting order gets a few runs on Severino early, he should be able to settle in and put together a good start today.
Phillies Player Props: Bryce Harper Over 1.5 Total Bases
Against Luis Severino, Bryce Harper has recorded a .400 batting average with two home runs. He sees the ball extremely well against Severino, and down a game he needs to take over at the plate tonight.
San Diego Padres at Los Angeles Dodgers (LAD Leads 1-0)
Yu Darvish vs. Jack Flaherty
Padres Moneyline (+123)
The Padres need to bounce back after getting out slugged by the Dodgers last night. With Yu Darvish on the mound they have the chance to do so. Darvish has held the Dodgers to a .201 batting average over his career, holding their most notable bats to low production.
Jack Flaherty hasn’t been his best against the Padres over the course of his career. San Diego hitters hit .279 against him, with a .917 OPS. At +123 consensus odds, there’s great value with the Padres tonight.
Padres Player Props: Fernando Tatis Jr. Over 1.5 Total Bases, Jurickson Profar Over 0.5 Hits, Kyle Higashioka Over 0.5 Hits (+110)
We’ll continue to tail Tatis total base prop until it doesn’t hit. He’s been incredible this postseason and against Jack Flaherty hits .625 with three doubles and a home run.
Jurickson Profar against Flaherty has also posted great numbers. In 11 total at bats Profar has hit for a .364 batting average and a 1.091 OPS. Coming off of a hitless night in game one, he’ll look to get back on track tonight.
At plus odds, taking the over on Higashioka to get a hit tonight gives us great value. He’s been incredible for San Diego at the plate lately, currently riding a six game hit streak that we’ll tail tonight to continue.
Dodgers Player Props: Tommy Edman Over 0.5 Hits
Since coming over during the trade deadline, Tommy Edman has looked like one of those key role players needed to make a World Series push. Last night in game one showed why he’s so pivotal to the Dodgers success going 2-4 with a run and a stolen base.
With a career .375 batting average against Yu Darvish, we’ll tail Edman to record a hit again in tonight’s matchup.
