Brest @ RB Salzburg:
Brest will travel to the Red Bull arena in Austra and look to begin their first ever UCL campaign with back to back victories. On the other hand, Salzburg look to bounce back after their 0-3 loss to Sparta Prague. Despite Salzburg’s struggles in matchweek 1, they will have a slight advantage as the home side. Brest, who finished 3rd on the Ligue1 table last season, have been unimpressive with a measly 6 points earned through their first 6 league matches.
Best bet: Over 2.5 Total Goals
Vfb Stuttgart vs Sparta Prague:
Stuttgart will host Czech club Sparta Prague. They look for their first UCL victory since 2010, their last time in the competition. Sparta have had an impressive start to the season, sitting at 2nd place in Chance Liga. Regardless, The German side will certainly have the advantage as the host, and should leave the evening as the victors.
Best bet: Stuttgart Moneyline
Arsenal vs Paris Saint-Germain
One of the best fixtures of the week features these two powerhouses. Arsenal have remained stellar despite the key loss of Martin Odegaard. PSG seemingly have not felt much of the impact of the loss of Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid. Bradley Barcola has filled the boots of Mbappe on the left wing, scoring a league best 6 goals thus far. Although, I assume Paris will not create enough chances to defeat Arsenal, who are up for the debate of the best team in the world.
Best bet: Arsenal to Win or Draw
Barcelona vs BSC Youngboys
This match is as straightforward as it gets. Barcelona have been perfect in La Liga play, with one of the most lethal attacking fronts in the world. Barcelona will be dominant from the opening kick. Youngboys began UCL play with a 0-3 loss against Aston Villa, expect a very similar evening tomorrow at Camp Nou in Barcelona.
Best bet: Lamine Yamal 1+ G/A
Bayern Leverkusen vs AC Milan
Unfortunately for Milan, they will travel to Germany to play Bayern Leverkusen. Under new management, Milan have struggled to hit their stride. While Leverkusen led by one of the worlds best midfielders Florian Wirtz, continue their fantastic play under world class manager Xabi Alonso. Expect Leverkusen’s loaded midfield to be very dangerous with set pieces and corner kicks, scoring from all over the final 3rd.
Best Bets: Leverkusen Moneyline, Leverkusen O1.5 Total Goals
Borussia Dortmund vs Celtic
BvB and Celtic are both coming off impressive victories in the first matchweek. Both sit at near the top of the UCL table, Celtic in 2nd, Dortmund in 5th. This will be Celtics first real test, after ravaging an unimpressive Slovan Bratislava side 5-1 two weeks ago. Dortmund is not an easy place to play, it will take a plethora of goals for Celtic to leave Germany with a point. Best case scenario is a hard fought draw for the Scottish club.
Best bet: Dortmund Moneyline
Inter vs Red Star Belgrade
This game will be somewhat similar to Barcelona’s clash with Young Boys. Red Star will see very little of the ball, anything less than 70% of possession for Inter would be disappointing. Any real chance for a goal must come from a counter attack for Red Star. Inter will look for a 15+ shot evening behind their star studded attacking duo of Lautro Martinez and Marcus Thuram.
Best bet: Martinez Anytime Goalscorer
PSV vs Sporting CP
This could be the most competitive match of the evening. Both clubs are the current powerhouses of their leagues. Sporting have begun their season with 8 straight victories. PSV also remained perfect with 7 wins in the Eredivisie. Sporting have scored 27 goals this season while conceding just 2. PSV will need to test the backline with dangerous crosses, and prevent Sweden’s Viktor Gyokeres from finding the back of the net for the 12th time this season.
Best bet: U3.5 Total Goals
Manchester City @ Slovan Bratislava
Manchester City will travel to Bratislava for a match that is all but decided already. This is an opportunity for City to give starters a rest, no matter who is out on the pitch for City there will be a result for the English club. City currently sit at -2200 odds to win, even as the team without the home advantage. If Haaland is not resting, he surely will bag at least 1 goal for the blues.
Best Bet: O3.5 Total Goals
Favorite goalscorers:
Bradley Barcola – PSG: +325
Barcola has notched 6 goals in 6 games for the French club to start league play. Although Arsenal have a tough defense, the value at +325 for Barcola to find the net is certainly there.
Serhou Guirassy – Dortmund: +115
Guirassy found the back of the net during the first match week. I expect him to do it again against Celtic. He has the best odds to score in the match, getting him at plus money is an opportunity you can’t miss.
Viktor Gyokeres – Sporting CP: +140
Gyokeres has scored in all but one of Sportings first eight matches, totaling 11 goals already. He simply can’t stop scoring. +140 is a very generous line for Europe’s current top scorer.
Florian Wirtz – Bayern Leverkusen: +220
Milan have struggled defending free kicks this season, Wirtz is one of the best free kick takers in the world. He will have more than a few chances at draining one outside of the box, along with plenty of other ways he is able to score.
Christian Pulisic – AC Milan: +375
The American star has been Milan’s best player so far. Pulisic’s 5 goal season is a team best. He’s been electric, scoring an early goal in match week 1 vs Liverpool, and the opener against Inter a few days later. He’s scored 4 matches in a row, and will look to keep that streak alive.
Lautaro Martinez – Inter: -145
SerieA’s leading goal scorer last season is -145 to score against Red Star Belgrade. Considering Inter are expected to win convincingly, getting Martinez to score as -145 is a valuable line.
