The Portland Timbers and forward Nathan Fogaca mutually parted ways, the club said Tuesday.
The Timbers then traded an international roster slot to Nashville SC in exchange for $100,000 in 2025 general allocation money.
Fogaca spent parts of the last three seasons with Portland, getting into 43 matches (10 starts) and scoring four goals with two assists. The 25-year-old from Brazil had one goal on eight shots in 16 matches (one start) in 2024.
“We want to thank Nathan for his contributions during his time with the Portland Timbers,” Timbers general manager Ned Grabavoy said in a statement. “He has expressed his desire to look at other opportunities that might afford him the playing time he is seeking, and this decision allows him the ability to do so. The Portland Timbers would like to wish Nathan all the best in his career going forward.”
