Buffalo Sabers 5 – Vegas Golden Knights 2
Quiet First Period by both teams
Both teams didn’t score a goal during the first period at all so the score stayed zero to zero. There were 24 shots on goal combined in the first period by both teams. The Buffalo Sabers had ten shots on goal. The Vegas Golden Knights had 14 shots on goal.
Second period scoring action both teams
The Buffalo Sabers are the first team to get on the board. The goal for the Sabers was scored by Dylan Cozens who recorded his fifth goal this season and Cozens goal was assisted by Casey Mittelstadt recorded his 17th assist of the season. The time of the goal was seven minutes and 42 seconds.
Vegas ended up tying goal in the period making the score one to one at the end period. This goal was a power play goal by Vegas. The goal was scored by Ivan Barbashev who recorded his seventh goal of the season and was assisted by Nicolas Roy who recorded his eighth assist of the season.
At the end of the period it was tied one a piece. Some stats from the second period is the Sabres had eight shots on goal and one of them went in. The Golden Knights had eleven shots on goals and one of them went in.
Vegas meltdown third period
The Vegas Golden Knights had a meltdown and gave up four goals at the end of the game. Vegas only scored one goal in the third period. Vegas scored to be up by one and was scored by Jack Eichel who recorded his 13th goal of the season and was assisted by Paul Cotter who recorded his seventh assist and the time of the goal was three minutes and 22 seconds.
Vegas suddenly had a huge meltdown during this period by giving up four goals in the period. The first goal was scored by Casey Mittelstadt his seventh goal of the season and was assisted by Dylan Cozens who recorded his tenth assist of the season and also Connor Clifton who recorded his seventh assist of the season. The time of the goal was five minutes and one second.
The Sabers scored again this time at nine minutes and 29 seconds and this goal was scored by Zach Benson who recorded his fourth goal of the season and was assisted by Alex Tuch his tenth assist of the season Mattias Samuelsson his third assist of the season.
Two minutes and 17 seconds the Sabres scored again and made the game out of reach for the Golden Knights. The goal was scored by Alex Tuch who recorded his ninth goal this season and was assisted by Zach Benson who recorded his sixth assist of the season.
Towards the end of the game the Sabres put the nail in the coffin and scored an empty net goal and was scored by Casey Mittelstadt his second goal of the game and eighth goal of the season. Mittelstadt’s goal was assisted by Dylan Cozens his second assist of the game and his eleventh assist of the season. The other person who assisted the goal was Rasmus Dahlin who recorded his 18th assist of the season. The time of the goal was 17 minutes and 19 seconds.
