Week 3 NFL Power Rankings. If you want to see standings, this is the wrong article for you. This list does NOT completely depend on the teams records.
32. Carolina Panthers (0-2):
There isn’t much to be said. 2 weeks in and Bryce Young has already been benched. It’s the Red Rifle show in Carolina now.
31. New York Giants (0-2):
They made it close this week, but still lost to a bad team with a rookie quarterback. The Giants are in full rebuild mode and will look to add a star rookie quarterback next year.
30. Denver Broncos (0-2):
The Broncos offense surrounding Bo Nix is completely futile. Sean Payton is not a good head coach anymore, no receiver can get any separation, and the running backs make no impact on the game.
29. Tennessee Titans (0-2):
Somehow the Titans have managed to compete both weeks of the season so far. However, the turnovers are gross and there simply isn’t enough star talent to make Tennessee a winning team as they start 0-2.
28. New England Patriots (1-1):
This offense has had some pleasant surprises however the receiving room is completely lacking in talent and Jacoby Brissett is not going to win this team any games. The Bengals lost week 1, the Patriots didn’t win week 1.
27. Las Vegas Raiders (1-1):
The Raiders did just go out and beat Baltimore, but I doubt the Raiders will continue success and find consistent wins this season. This team will be looking to pick up a QB early in the draft come April. In the meantime watching Minshew to Davante will be dfun.
26. Washington Commanders (1-1):
Jayden Daniels is impressing well for a rookie quarterback and looks like their franchise guy, however this is certainly not their year. A win against the terrible Giants doesn’t change the fact that the defense lacks star players and Jayden’s weapons are minimal.
25. Indianapolis Colts (0-2):
Indianapolis could only score 10 points against a Packers team without Jordan Love, giving Malik Willis a win in his first full game with Green Bay. This was a game Richardson easily should’ve won, but they didn’t. This team still could bounce back though.
24. Cleveland Browns (1-1):
Cleveland beat Jacksonville, however I simply see no reality where this team pulls it together and finds themselves even in the wildcard. Deshaun Watson and Nick Chubb will likely never be the same player they used to be.
23. Seattle Seahawks (2-0):
While Seattle is undefeated so far, they beat 2 of the bottom 5 teams in the league. The Seahawks weren’t convincing in the victories either, having less than a 7 point lead in both games. Seattle will likely trend downwards from this point forward.
22. Chicago Bears (1-1):
Caleb Williams is very clearly showing growing pains and it has been pretty ugly to watch. The Bears offense has been far worse than I would have expected as their lone win was gifted by an idiotic Will Levis pick six.
21. Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2):
Jacksonville could have and should have won both of the past 2 games. However this is one of the worst coached offenses I have ever seen. Doug Pederson and Press Taylor need to do better for this team to bounce back. The Jaguars have all the talent, put it together.
20. Los Angeles Rams (0-2):
With Puka Nacua, Cooper Kupp, and Tyler Higbee already hurt, this offense has been hit with a freight train of injuries. The Rams absolutely could turn this season around but if the injury bug continues then this offense will have no hopes of the playoffs.
19. Miami Dolphins (1-1):
Tua Tagovailoa’s career may be over. If that is the case then Miami will struggle to find success no matter how good their plethora of playmakers are. Hopefully Tua is okay, but he needs to consider retirement.
18. New York Jets (1-1):
The Jets and Aaron Rodgers have tons of potential, but I’m not quite convinced. The Jets looked like the old Jets against the 49ers and they would have lost to the Titans if it wasn’t for another late game inexcusable Will Levis turnover.
17. Atlanta Falcons (1-1):
Again, this is a team with sky high potential. The team overall hasn’t looked as good as many would have hoped, especially on offense. They need to prove that they can consistently win games when the Eagles don’t drop the win.
16. Arizona Cardinals (1-1):
Kyler Murray almost led the Cardinals to a win against Buffalo and then DOMINATED the Rams in week 2. With Marvin Harrison Jr. the offense looks electric! Arizona could be a pleasant surprise success story this season.
15. Minnesota Vikings (2-0):
Sam Darnold is playing lights out to start the year after a strong win against San Francisco. I struggle to see Minnesota consistently winning games, but they certainly could prove me wrong with Jordan Addison and TJ Hockenson returning.
14. Pittsburgh Steelers (2-0):
The Steelers are undefeated and the defense looks unstoppable. However the offense so far has been baggage weighing them down. If they commit to Justin Fields, I could see the offense finding more success.
13. Los Angeles Chargers (2-0):
The Chargers passing offense has taken a step down from last year. JK Dobbins has shined brilliantly in the backfield to pick up the workload while Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston develop as the top receivers. Consistency is going to be this team’s biggest challenge.
12. Cincinnati Bengals (0-2):
Cincinnati is winless to start the year, but the Bengals are trending upwards. The Bengals almost beat the best team in the league in the toughest stadium to play in. With Tee Higgins returning and Ja’Marr Chase looking to bounce back, Burrow and the Bengals are looking up.
11. Green Bay Packers (1-1):
Thankfully Jordan Love’s injury was not too severe, and they still won in week 2 without him. Once Love is back under center this team’s offense has the potential to go nuclear so long as Jordan is healthy. The Packers are legit.
10. Dallas Cowboys (1-1):
The Cowboys should be good the rest of the year, the run game is a major concern offensively though. America’s team will have plenty of eyes on them moving forward after getting blown out by New Orleans though.
9. New Orleans Saints (2-0):
WOW! New Orleans is the biggest surprise by far to start the year. Derek Carr is on pace for 51 total touchdowns, Alvin Kamara had 4 touchdowns this week, simply incredible. The Saints blew out Carolina in week 1, which could be chalked up to the Panthers suck. This week the Saints blew the brakes off the Dallas Cowboys, now that is impressive. If Carr and the Saints are consistently anywhere close to this level of play consistently then they will rise this list rapidly.
8. Baltimore Ravens (0-2):
“Really? A winless team at number 8 still?” Yes, Baltimore was inches away from beating the Chiefs and should have beat the Raiders. There is no reason to believe that the Ravens will not bounce back and find success this season.
7. Philadelphia Eagles (1-1):
The Eagles have had 2 very close games in primetime and should have beat the Falcons this week. The Eagles have tons of talent and a beautifully built roster. Injury and coaching concerns are what weigh them down here.
6. Houston Texans (2-0):
CJ Stroud and the Texans offense are for sure going to find success in the future. The defense is somewhat questionable though for a top team. It’s difficult to see this young squad being true contenders quite yet.
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-0):
Baker Mayfield is at the top of the MVP race to open up the year. Baker is on pace for 51 touchdowns, same as Carr, and led the Buccaneers to an impressive win in Detroit. The Buccaneers are legit and could very well find themselves as the NFC favorites soon.
4. San Francisco 49ers (1-1):
This team could easily be the top in the entire league. Injuries have been a problem early though and could hold the 49ers back despite their fantastic depth. The 49ers Super Bowl contenders, but need to stay on the field.
3. Detroit Lions (1-1):
The Lions are a top team with their eyes on the Super Bowl. Losing to Tampa Bay was a surprise. I see it as a positive for Tampa more than a negative for Detroit though. The Lions will look to bounce back and get going on offense to cement themselves as one of the top teams in the league.
2. Buffalo Bills (2-0):
I expected Buffalo’s offense to take a step down losing Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis. Josh Allen’s and Joe Brady’s offense has proven to prevail though dominating against 2 strong opponents. The defense I especially believed would decline with Matt Milano hurt and a plethora of offseason losses, but here again they have proven me wrong. Guys like Greg Rousseau at edge rusher and James Cook at running back taking the next step up has Buffalo looking elite.
1. Kansas City Chiefs (2-0):
Patrick Mahomes has the most complete surrounding offense of his entire career. Mahomes and the Chiefs have started out the year with wins against 2 extremely talented teams. It is impossible to have any team at 1 so far except for Kansas City as they look to 3-peat.
