New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara was held out of practice on Wednesday due to back tightness.
Kamara did participate in the team’s walkthrough, though, and New Orleans coach Dennis Allen told reporters that the injury was “not a big deal.”
A five-time Pro Bowl selection, Kamara violated the NFL’s personal conduct policy and was suspended for the first three games of the 2023 season as a result. He ended up playing in 13 games (12 starts), rushing for a career-low 694 yards and five touchdowns on 180 carries.
Kamara also had 75 catches for 466 yards and one TD last season.
In seven NFL seasons, all with the Saints, the 29-year-old has 5,829 yards and 54 scores on 1,315 carries to go along with 505 receptions for 4,219 yards and 23 TDs.
Kamara sat out mandatory minicamp back in June as he tries to land a new contract with New Orleans.
