NFC North
Day Three of THE BBSN review of the upcoming NFL Draft on Thursday takes us to the North Division of the NFC. No need for a clever build up; you know the drill by now.
Let’s get to it…
Chicago Bears
Needs:
OT, DL, EDGE, OG/C, WR, CB, RB
Picks:
#9, #53, #61, #64, #103, #133, #136, #148, #218, #258
Prediction: OTs are prized possessions in the draft, especially top-rated ones. Assuming he doesn’t get sniped by another team, the reuniting of Paris Johnson Jr. (OT/Ohio St.) with his old college teammate Justin Fields (QB) seems like it should build some continuity on a sub-par O-line.
DETROIT LIONS:
Needs:
CB, DL, EDGE, TE, QB, LB, RB
Picks:
#6, #18, #48, #55, #81, #152, #159,#183, #194
Prediction: Too many good cornerbacks to not take one at #6. At #18, don’t be shocked if Bryan Breese (Clemson/DL) gets a look. He seems like a Dan Campbell kind of lineman.
GREEN BAY PACKERS:
Needs:
QB, TE, WR, EDGE, S, DL, OT
Picks:
#13, #42, #45, #78, #116, #149, #@07, #232, #235, #242, #256
Prediction: Jordan Love is not the answer to “who will replace Aaron Rodgers”. GB finds a way to move up in the draft to make sure they land Will Levis (Kentucky/QB).
Minnesota Vikings:
Needs:
CB, WR, QB, EDGE, DL, S, LB
Picks:
#23, #87, #119, #158, #211
Prediction: MIN doesn’t have a lot of skin in the game this draft. They have to hit on the few they have, starting in the first round. Cam Smith (South Carolina/CB) would fill the need at CB, but don’t be surprised if Jordan Addison (USC/WR) gets a call…
Assuming Zay Flowers (Boston College/WR) is off the board.
