Kansas City Chiefs Activate Skyy Moore For The Super Bowl

By CJ Carlson

Skyy Moore will be making his return to the field for the first time in weeks after the Kansas City Chiefs officially activated him off of injured reserve. Moore’s activation was a bit surprising considering that nobody really knew the extent of his injury that kept him out for so long. Regardless, he’s getting himself ready to help his team win a championship.

Skyy Moore Has A Shot To Contribute

Moore gets activated on the heels of their defensive end Charles Omenihu getting placed on IR. The second-year wide receiver was supposed to be coming into a larger workload this season, but that really hasn’t materialized. He was just narrowly surpassing his rookie numbers after he started dealing with a knee injury in Week 15. That was the knee injury that held him out for the remainder of the regular season, and the ensuing three postseason games.

The Chiefs actually opened the 21-day practice window for Moore right after they beat the Miami Dolphins in the Wild Card Round. Had they not activated him when they did, Moore wouldn’t have been able to return. He was activated on literally the final day of that practice window, becoming a full participant.

We’ll see if Moore or Kadarius Toney for that matter can even crack the field at some point throughout this game. After all, without both of those wideouts, the Chiefs have been rolling offensively. They might not be too keen on changing things up when they’ve been working. Kansas City is going to certainly feel the loss of Omenihu though, as he’s third on the team in sacks this season with three of them. He suffered a torn ACL in the AFC Championship game against the Baltimore Ravens. It just so happened that Moore needed a roster spot to open up to return, so for him, it worked out.

Kansas City Chiefs Injury Report

The rest of the Chiefs injury report, a few days away from the big game, saw everybody but two players get listed as full participants. The only two players were limited were Isiah Pacheco and L’Jarius Sneed, but both of them were limited for the majority of the week leading up to the AFC Championship game, so they’ll be ready to go here barring any setbacks. Finally, there was one notable name that has still yet to practice, which was their All-Pro guard, Joe Thuney. He missed the Ravens matchup with a pectoral injury and has been expected to miss this game. That timeline hasn’t changed, with him still not seeing the practice field yet.
