Jordan Love, Packers jump out to big lead, rout Cards

Jordan Love matched his career best of four touchdown passes to lead the Green Bay Packers to an easy 34-13 victory over the visiting Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

Love completed 22 of 32 passes for 258 yards with one interception to help the Packers (4-2) win their second straight game. Love has thrown 10 touchdown passes in three games since returning from a knee injury.

Green Bay’s Romeo Doubs caught two touchdown passes one week after serving a suspension for detrimental conduct to the team. Christian Watson and Jayden Reed caught touchdowns and Evan Williams and Karl Brooks forced fumbles.

Kyler Murray also was 22-of-32 passing while accumulating 214 yards and one touchdown for the Cardinals (2-4), who lost for the third time in four games. Michael Wilson caught a touchdown pass while Trey McBride had eight receptions for 96 yards.

Arizona’s Marvin Harrison Jr. sustained a first-half concussion and missed the rest of the game. He didn’t have a catch.

Green Bay outgained the Cardinals 437-307 and controlled the ball for 36 minutes and 35 seconds.

The Packers dominated the first 25-plus minutes of the game while taking a 24-0 lead.

Love threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Reed with 8:55 left in the first quarter and then connected with Doubs on a 10-yard scoring pass on the first play of the second quarter to make it 14-0.

Brayden Narveson booted a 36-yard field goal with 6:32 left in the half. After the Packers stopped the Cardinals, Keisean Nixon returned a punt 39 yards to the Arizona 44-yard line. On the next play, Love threw a touchdown pass to Watson to make it 24-0 with 4:32 left in the half.

The Cardinals responded with the next 13 points, starting with Murray’s 18-yard scoring pass to Wilson with 1:56 left.

Chad Ryland kicked a 38-yard field goal with four seconds left to leave Arizona down 24-10 at halftime. He then booted a 40-yard goal on the Cardinals’ first drive of the third quarter.

But the Packers regained momentum on a play in which Love was under extreme duress from Arizona’s blitzing Dennis Gardeck. Love lobbed the ball high downfield and Doubs adjusted his route, shedding Sean Murphy-Bunting to haul in a 20-yard touchdown catch to make it 31-13 with 3:48 left in the third quarter.

Narveson added a 41-yard field goal with 9:28 left in the contest.

Arizona lost three second-half fumbles to sabotage its comeback bid.
