Tank Bigsby ran for an 8-yard touchdown with 6:46 left Sunday and the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars held off the Tennessee Titans 10-6 in Nashville.
Bigsby raced through a hole between the left guard and tackle, then stiff-armed a defender near the goal line to cap a seven-play, 81-yard drive. The key play was Mac Jones’ 31-yard pass to Brian Thomas Jr. that got Jacksonville to the 12.
Jones completed 23 of 31 passes for 220 yards and two interceptions in his first start since quarterback Trevor Lawrence went on injured reserve Wednesday with a concussion. The Jaguars (3-10) ended a five-game losing streak.
Will Levis went 19-of-32 passing for 168 yards for Tennessee (3-10), which dropped its second game in a row. The Titans made it to the Jacksonville 9 but Levis’ fourth-down pass for Nick Westbrook-Ikhine rattled in and out of his hands in the back of the end zone with 1:11 remaining.
Tennessee got one last possession after forcing a three-and-out but four straight passes fell incomplete.
Tony Pollard rushed 21 times for 102 yards for the Titans, who were outgained 291-272.
Tennessee opened the game with a drive that lasted nearly 6 1/2 minutes, culminating in Nick Folk’s 46-yard field goal at the 8:32 mark. Those were the only points of the first half as neither offense could finish drives with touchdowns.
The Titans got the closest, earning a first-and-goal at the 4 in the second quarter. But after Pollard’s first-down run to the 2, three straight Levis passes fell incomplete and Jacksonville took over on downs.
The Jaguars reached the Tennessee 36 on the ensuing drive but an offensive pass interference penalty took them out of field goal range. Jones then tossed his second interception of the half to Otis Reese with a second left to end the threat.
Folk made it 6-0 with 4:30 left in the third quarter when he converted a 39-yard field goal before Cam Little got Jacksonville on the board with a 23-yard field goal with 12:09 remaining in the game.
