The Philadelphia Eagles signed safety Caden Sterns to a contract on Sunday.
The team did not release contract details.
Sterns will rejoin Vic Fangio, who was the head coach of the Denver Broncos when the team selected him in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Fangio is now the defensive coordinator of the Eagles.
Sterns, 24, totaled 28 tackles, two interceptions and two sacks in 15 games (two starts) in 2021. He has been limited to six games (three starts) over the past two seasons due to injury, including tearing a patellar tendon in the season opener in 2023.
Sterns was claimed off waivers by the Carolina Panthers on Tuesday. He was released after he failed a physical, however.
Also Sunday, the Eagles released linebacker Shaquille Quarterman.
Quarterman, 26, had two tackles in 17 games last season and 54 over 63 career games with the Jacksonville Jaguars, who selected him in the fourth round of the 2020 draft.
