Dolphins’ Philips to Undergo Season Ending Knee Surgery

Coral Gables, FL.- Things just can’t go right for the Miami Dolphins this season.

During the ‘Fins 31-12 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Monday Night, star linebacker Jaelan Philips exited the game early due to an unknown ailment.

This afternoon, the linebacker announced via social media that he will be undergoing season ending reconstructive knee surgery.

This is the second consecutive season ending surgery for Philips (2023-24 season ending Achilles tear), and another addition to his long injury history.

Phillips’ injury is another major blow against the Miami Dolphins, who have been on the wrong side of the injury bug to begin the season. Miami’s already placed QB Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) on the IR, alongside injuries to WR Odell Beckham Jr., EDGE Bradley Chubb, S Kendall Fuller, and OL Terron Armstead that have sidelined them for extended time.

It may be time for the Dolphins to chalk the season up as a failure, and begin preparation for the 2025 NFL Draft, where the ‘Fins are currently poised to hold a top ten pick.
