With the end of the college football season & all conference championships played, expert analysts have a good idea of who is staying put in college, who is entering the NFL Draft, and where they will be positioned in next month’s draft. Most of you know the household names in college football, but many of you don’t know the 3rd-7th round players who may not only fill out your favorite team’s roster, but will be impact players in the foreseeable future.
And since you asked for a cheat sheet to the 2024 NFL Draft test, I’m here to oblige. Over the next few days, weeks, & months, I will be releasing updated prospect ratings (especially after the combine and player’s Pro Day) for the top 250 players in college football, five players at a time. This way, it’s a steady dose of learning as opposed to cramming information, with no real retention of the material you just read.
As promised, here are the 2024 NFL Draft prospects, as I see them, rated #1-#5
- 1. QB Caleb Williams, USC:
- Williams has consistently been a standout in college football for his ability to effectively move the ball both by passing and rushing. His ability to improvise and create plays makes him a highly desirable prospect for the NFL.
- 2. WR Marvin Harrison Jr., Ohio State:
- Harrison Jr.’s skills are reminiscent of his father, the legendary Marvin Harrison Sr., but with added physical advantages in height and weight. His advanced techniques, exceptional control over his body, dependable hands, and athletic prowess make him an ideal WR1 candidate.
- 3. QB Drake Maye, North Carolina:
- Maye displays the arm strength and accuracy necessary for the NFL, able to execute a wide range of throws with precision. While he tends to risk turnovers, his overall passing skills are impressive.
- 4. T Olumuyiwa Fashanu, Penn State:
- Fashanu exhibits exceptional skills in pass protection, drawing comparisons to greats like Tyron Smith and Joe Thomas. Though his run-blocking could improve, he is a highly coveted prospect for his pass-blocking abilities.
- 5. TE Brock Bowers, Georgia:
- Bowers has been the top tight end in college for two consecutive seasons. While he may not be picked as early as Kyle Pitts, his dual abilities in blocking and receiving make him a standout prospect.
