The Return of Reuben Bain

Coral Gables, FL.- “You think the darkness is your ally?”…..

He’s back

This morning (September 30), Miami Hurricanes’ Head Coach Mario Cristobal revealed on the Joe Rose Show that star EDGE rusher Reuben Bain Jr will make his return to the field for Saturday’s match vs Cal Berkley.

“Reuben Bain looked great pregame (vs Virginia Tech.” Coach Cristobal shared on air. “Reuben is a go for this week.

Bain, the 2023-24 ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year, played a total of three snaps in the ‘Canes’ season opener vs Florida (August 30) before suffering a “soft tissue” injury that’s sidelined him until today. The Miami native was a certified game wrecker last season, recording 44 total tackles, 7.5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles.

What does this mean for Miami?

The ‘Canes’ lights out defense is only getting better. Reuben Bain’s return to the rotation only positively affects Tyler Baron and Simeon Barrow, who have held down the trenches since Bain’s injury. The Hurricanes’ front seven will be back to full strength, and should continue to wreak havoc in Cali.
