Orlando, FL.- Breaking News: The University of Miami has accepted their formal invitation to the 2024 PopTarts Bowl, where they will face off against the Iowa State Cyclones of the BIGXII.
This selection just comes hours after the College Football Playoff Committee’s selection of the all new 12-Team Playoff Bracket, where many ‘Canes fans hoped and prayed Miami would be chosen. Unfortunately, two losses to unranked ACC squads Georgia Tech and Syracuse over the past few weeks negated the Hurricanes from the opportunity to compete for a Conference title, leading to the exclusion from National Championship contention.
With one of the nation’s most polarizing squads still on the table following the 12:00 P.M. selection show, representatives from Bowls across the country immediately flocked to the Hurricanes in hopes of swaying them to compete in their represented game. Ultimately, the ‘Canes selected the PopTarts Bowl, where they will face off against Big XII runner up, Iowa State.
This matchup will feature two of the games top passing offenses, as both Miami’s Cam Ward and Iowa State’s Rocco Becht rank inside the top 15 in yards this season. The game has extra potential for fast paced scoring offense, as both defenses have raised serious questions regarding their validity. Iowa State is coming off a punishing 45-19 beat down from Arizona State in the Big-12 title game.
This high flying, air raid matchup between the Hurricanes and Cyclones will take place December 28th at 3:30 P.M.
