Alabama A&M-Florida A&M postponed due to Tropical Storm Helene

Florida A&M has postponed Saturday’s home game against Alabama A&M due to the approach of Tropical Storm Helene, the school announced Tuesday.

The game instead will be played Friday, Nov. 29, now marking the end of the regular season for both teams.

The storm is expected to strengthen into a hurricane Wednesday as it approaches the continental United States. Helene could make landfall near Tallahassee, where FAMU is located, according to weather models.

A stretch of coastline ranging from Tallahassee south to Tampa is currently under a hurricane watch.

The Florida State Seminoles, also based in Tallahassee, are on the road Saturday at SMU. South Florida, based in Tampa, plays Saturday at Tulane.

The NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers are scheduled to play a home game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
