March Madness
Tomorrow, 68 men’s college basketball teams & 68 women’s college basketball teams get to learn their fates. Selection Sunday is almost here. Once the teams who are in are revealed & the games are set in each regional bracket, then the countdown to the tip-off of “March Madness” will truly begin.
It starts with the “First Four”, where 8 men’s teams will compete on Tuesday & Wednesday in Dayton, Ohio at the University of Dayton Arena. Meanwhile, 8 women’s teams will compete on Wednesday & Thursday in various arenas. The winners will be among the 16 teams in their respective regions.
Then, “March Madness” really begins with the rounds of 64 & 32. The men’s games will take place from Thursday to next Sunday. They will take place at the following venues: Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee. PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena in Spokane, Washington. CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska. The women’s games will take place from Friday to next Monday at the locations of the top 4 seed’s school in each region.
Then, “March Madness” continues with the Sweet 16 & the Elite 8. These will be the tournament’s regional semi-finals & finals games. The men’s Sweet 16 will take place on March 28th & 29th, then the Elite 8 will take place on March 30th & 31st. These games will take place in 4 venues: TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas. Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan. The women’s Sweet 16 will take place on March 29th & 30th, while the Elite 8 will take place on March 31st & April 1st. These games will take place at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon and MVP Arena in Albany, NY.
Finally, the winners of each region will advance to the “Final Four”, where they will hope to win 2 games and end their season as NCAA Division-I Basketball Champions for the 2023-24 season. The women’s “Final Four” will be at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, OH. The men’s “Final Four” will be at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The women’s national semi-finals game will take place on April 5th, while the men’s national semi-finals will take place on April 6th.
Then, it’s the 2 biggest college basketball games of the year. The women’s national championship game will take on April 7th & the men’s national championship game will take place on April 8th. When all is said & done, one group of women will leave Cleveland and one group of men will leave Glendale as the national champions of college basketball.
