Warriors Lose by 16 versus Nuggets as Klay Thompson had a 16 point quarter

Despite the start from Klay Thompson the Warriors gave up their 16 point lead against the Nuggets making the final score Nuggets 119 and Warriors 103 in the Chase Center. On Sunday this was the Warriors second loss against the defending champions. Also this is the first loss since the All Star Break since the Warriors started the half two and zero.

Klay Thompson 16 points in a quarter

Klay Thompson in one quarter scored 16 points and he hit four three pointers in his first seven minutes in the game during the first quarter stint. Thompson also during the quarter he was five for seven in field goals so he only missed two all together in this quarter.

Thompson is the only reserve player in the league to open with 16 points in the first quarter this season. Thompson had 18 points in the third quarter in his first ever game off the bench on February 14th.

Falling apart give up 16 points

Lester Quinones for the Warriors had a three pointer with five minutes and 45 seconds remaining in the second quarter giving the Warriors a 16 point lead making the score 56-40. But the Nuggets went on a 21 to five run shortly after the three pointer by Lester Quinones. Making the score at half time a tie game 61 to 61. Denver had at the start of the third quarter a 14 to nothing run going on giving them a double digit lead which the score at the time was 75-65 a ten point difference.

The Golden State Warriors are starting a east coast road trip and the first stop is in Washington, DC on Tuesday to face off the Wizards. Then on the 29th of February the Warriors will be in New York to face off against the Knicks. Then on the first of March they travel to Toronto to face the Raptors. Then ending the road trip on the third of March to face off in Boston against the Celtics.
