Golden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins will miss Tuesday night’s home game against the New Orleans Pelicans due to a lower back strain.
Wiggins’ back tightened up during Sunday’s 112-104 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. He scored 29 points on 11-of-15 shooting in that contest and made 5 of 8 from 3-point range.
Golden State coach Steve Kerr said that Wiggins wasn’t hurt on any specific play, but that Wiggins’ back sometimes tightens up.
Wiggins, 29, is averaging 19.7 points and 6.7 rebounds in three games.
The Warriors will also be without Stephen Curry (left ankle strain). He also was injured Sunday and will miss both ends of a back-to-back with New Orleans. The teams play again Wednesday night.
Curry, 36, is averaging 18.3 points, 6.7 assists and 5.3 rebounds in three games in his 16th season with the Warriors.
Golden State guard De’Anthony Melton (lower back strain) also will miss the two games.
