The Miami Heat formally announced a contract extension for star center Bam Adebayo on Saturday.
Though the Heat didn’t divulge terms, multiple reports says the two sides agreed to a three-year, $166 million extension that begins with the 2026-27 season.
Adebayo posted a highlight reel on social media and wrote, “HERE TO STAY.”
Adebayo is owed $34.8 million for the 2024-25 season and $37.1 million for 2025-26.
Adebayo, 26, averaged 19.3 points, a career-best 10.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.1 steals in 71 games last season. He was an All-Star for the third time and earned a first-team spot on the All-Defensive Team for the first time. He has been second team four times.
In seven NBA seasons with the Heat, Adebayo has career averages of 15.4 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.0 steals in 489 games (385 starts). He was a first-round draft selection (14th overall) in 2017 out of Kentucky.
