The Chicago White Sox acquired outfielder Corey Julks from the Houston Astros in exchange for minor league right-hander Luis Rodriguez.
The deal was announced Wednesday by Astros general manager Dana Brown.
Julks, 28, made his major league debut with Houston in 2023 and batted .245 with six homers, 33 RBIs and 15 steals in 93 games.
Julks has spent the entire 2024 season at Triple-A Sugar Land, batting .266 with five homers and 15 RBIs in 31 games. He was designated for assignment on Friday.
Rodriguez, 20, appeared in 17 games over the past two seasons in the White Sox organization. He posted a 3.93 ERA with 49 strikeouts in 36 2/3 innings between the Arizona Complex League and the Dominican Summer League.
