Three Prop Bets For Paul Skenes and a 30% MLB Same Game Parlay Boost
After Paul Skenes made his major league debut last weekend against the Chicago Cubs at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, he now faces the same Cubs team, this time in historic Wrigley Field. Here are three prop bets for Skenes’ second start.
Over 6.5 Strikeouts
Skenes tallied seven strikeouts in his first big league start against this same Cubs team. In a start where he slightly struggled with control, expect him to reach this number if his fastball command is better. Taking over eight strikeouts could give you great value as well, with the expectation that Skenes could maybe have a slightly longer leash in this start. Regardless, playing the o6.5 is a solid bet.

Over 14.5 Outs
After Skenes’ first start that saw the Pirates lead get blown by the bullpen, Pittsburgh will be better off having Skenes on the mound for longer. It’s evident to the Pirates staff that he will give them a far better chance to win and in his second start, will most likely be expected to go slightly longer than he did in his debut, giving him the chance to get over that 14.5 out threshold.
Under 1.5 Earned Runs
Skenes’ was credited with giving up three earned runs in his debut start, with the bullpen being partly to blame for two of the runs coming across to score. If given a longer leash, Skenes will be expected to work out of those jams and currently at plus-odds, could be a great prop bet to throw in his second start.
It will be expected that Skenes will settle in more in his second start. With that hopefully comes a more dominating performance and a longer outing than what we saw in his debut start. If his command of his fastball is on today, these three props can be very good bets to pick for the 2023 first overall picks second outing.
