Six Prop Bets For The August 14th MLB Slate

Houston Astros at Tampa Bay Rays

Ronel Blanco (9-6) vs. Zack Littell (5-8)

Jose Altuve Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI

Jose Altuve has been great against Zack Littell in five at bats. Altuve has an .800 batting average with four hits in those five at bats, as well as one walk. If he continues to stay hot against Littell this prop should be a great play. The Astros look to extend their win streak to eight, and a good day at the plate from Altuve with a great start from Ronel Blanco should do it for them.

Kansas City Royals at Minnesota Twins

Cole Ragans (9-7) vs. Louie Varland (0-4)

Cole Ragans Over 6.5 Strikeouts

Hard Rock Bet currently offers this line at plus odds, and while the Twins have been good against the Royals all series, there’s some good value here. Ragans against the Twins this year in two starts has totalled 16 strikeouts across 11.0 innings pitched. Looking to salvage a game of the series, Ragans needs to deal for Kansas City this afternoon and work through the tough Minnesota lineup efficiently.

Texas Rangers at Boston Red Sox

Undecided vs. Tanner Houck (8-8)

Tanner Houck Over 17.5 Pitching Outs

The Red Sox go for the sweep tonight in Fenway with their breakout star pitcher Tanner Houck on the mound. All of Boston’s starters in this series have excelled, with Bello and Kutter Crawford doing their jobs and putting together solid starts. Houck has been solid against the best bats in this Rangers lineup, holding Corey Seager hitless and Marcus Semien to a .182 batting average in 11 at bats against him.

New York Yankees at Chicago White Sox

Will Warren (0-1) vs. Davis Martin (0-1)

Juan Soto 2+ Hits

Juan Soto is coming off of a historic night hitting three home runs in a single game for the first time in his career. Soto’s been on a tear lately, and against right hander Davis Martin, is in position to stay hot at the plate. Soto already has an extra base hit off of Martin in three at bats as well and that experience should pay off tonight.

Los Angeles Dodgers at Milwaukee Brewers

Walker Buehler vs. Frankie Montas

Shohei Ohtani – First Home Run

Shohei Ohtani has been phenomenal all series in Milwaukee, and to cap it off has a very favorable matchup on the mound. In 27 at bats against Frankie Montas, Ohtani has hit .407 with five home runs and 13 RBI. With the Dodgers on the road, Ohtani should have a great opportunity to hit the game’s first home run tonight.

Colorado Rockies at Arizona Diamondbacks

Tanner Gordon (0-3) vs. Jordan Montgomery (7-6)

Longshot: Jake McCarthy Over 0.5 Home Runs

For today’s longshot pick, we’re sticking with McCarthy fresh off a walk off who is red hot. In the last seven days, McCarthy has hit .452 with three home runs and 15 RBI. At +1000 odds on Hard Rock Bet, it could be worth sprinkling something for a guy who’s been this good offensively as of late.
