New York Mets left-hander Brooks Raley will undergo Tommy John surgery and miss the remainder of the season, Newsday reported Tuesday.
Raley, 35, hasn’t pitched since April 19, when he did not allow a run over two-thirds of an inning against the Los Angeles Dodgers. It was his eighth consecutive scoreless outing to start the season.
Over seven major league seasons, Raley is 6-10 with a 4.04 ERA in 227 appearances (five starts) with five different clubs. He also pitched five seasons in South Korea.
In two seasons for the Mets, Raley has gone 2-2 with a 2.48 ERA in 74 relief appearances.
