ACLS GAME 3 RECAP: Astros at Rangers

The Houston Astros bounced back to get into the championship series by winning game three tonight against the Texas Rangers by a score of eight to five. The Rangers send out Max Scherzer tonight and he was not the same Scherzer we saw in the postseason past.

The Astros scored five runs off Scherzer in the game and he only had four strikeouts. On the Astros side of things Christian Javier went five and two thirds giving up two runs and three strikeouts.

Some standout players for the Houston Astros are Jose Altuve, Yordan Alvarez, and Martin Maldonado. These three players had two hits each in tonight’s contest. The Astros had one hitter that had three hits in tonight’s ball game and it is there center fielder Maurcio Dubon. Dubon is normally an infielder for the Astros but Dusty Baker stuck into the outfield tonight and let him play his 30th game in centerfield. There was a home run robbery action tonight with Leody Tavaras robbing Yordan Alvarez in the top of the sixth inning.

Later in the fifth inning Texas did come swinging and got two runs to cut the Astros lead down to three. The Texas Rangers only had two players with two hits in the game; the players are Nathaniel Lowe and Josh Jung. They are responsible for four of the six hits in the game. Jung was the one who had the most runs batting in or RBI for short.

Jung in the game had four RBIS. The six hits the Texas Rangers had were not enough for them to beat Houston as Houston out hit them with 12 hits and was out hit with six more. Game four of this series is tomorrow night and the pitching matchup is still to be determined. Game time is set for eight o three eastern time.
