Gearing up for the postseason after clinching the American League Central last week, the Cleveland Guardians activated All-Star and Gold Glove left fielder Steven Kwan from the 10-day injured list on Wednesday.
Kwan, 27, has not played since Sept. 12 due to a sore back. Myles Straw, another Gold Glove-winning outfielder, was optioned to Triple-A Columbus in a corresponding move.
In his third season with Cleveland, the team’s fifth-round pick in the 2018 draft has hit .291 with 13 home runs and 43 RBIs in 120 games, earning his first All-Star berth. Kwan is also a back-to-back Gold Glove winner.
Over 425 career games with the Guardians, Kwan is hitting .285 with 24 home runs and 149 RBIs.
Straw, 29, is 1-for-4 in seven games with Cleveland this season but spent most of the season at Triple-A Columbus.
A Gold Glove winner in 2022, Straw is a .244 hitter with six homers, 125 RBIs and 89 stolen bases in seven seasons (562 games) with the Houston Astros (2018-21) and Guardians.
