Five Prop Bets For The August 12th MLB Slate

After a tough Sunday slate, it’s time to reset and go over five more prop bets to hopefully get the week started off on the right foot.

New York Yankees at Chicago White Sox

Luis Gil (12-5) vs. Ky Bush (0-1)

Anthony Volpe Over 1.5 Total Bases

Volpe started off the second half of the season looking much better than when he came into the All Star break. However more recently, Volpe’s cooled off. His last week was rough with just one hit, and ten strikeouts. This is the matchup where Volpe can get back on track. A left handed Ky Bush in his second start with the White Sox can be very favorable towards Volpe, who has a pair of doubles in his small sample size of stats against Chicago. At plus odds, there’s solid value with this prop.

Houston Astros at Tampa Bay Rays

Framber Valdez (11-5) vs. Taj Bradley (6-6)

Taj Bradley Over 17.5 Pitching Outs

Taj Bradley through June and July looked like he was settling in for an incredible stretch to end the season. A couple of uncharacteristic starts of late require him to get back on track at home, where he’s excelled. Bradley’s recorded a 2.04 ERA at home this season, and has managed to go at least six innings in most of his recent starts. Hopefully Bradley can settle back in today back at Tropicana Field, and dominate the rest of August.

Texas Rangers at Boston Red Sox

Tyler Mahle (0-1) vs. Brayan Bello (10-5)

Brayan Bello Over 5.5 Hits Allowed

Brayan Bello has not had a start since May where he’s given up less than five hits. In his last seven starts dating back to July 3rd, Bello has hit the over on this line four out of the seven times. While the hit totals are usually high, Bello goes five to six innings usually giving time for the hits to accumulate. With the tough Texas Rangers offense coming into Fenway, Bello has his work cut out for him.

Colorado Rockies at Arizona Diamondbacks

Cal Quantrill (7-6) vs. Brandon Pfaadt (6-6)

Eugenio Suarez Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI

A series against Colorado typically leads to a lot of runs, especially with Cal Quantrill on the mound on the road. Quantrill has a 5.10 ERA on the road this season, and Eugenio Suarez in particular has good numbers against the Colorado right hander. Suarez in 17 at bats against Quantrill, is hitting .353, with six hits, and three RBI. Currently sporting a seven game hit streak, Suarez looks to stay hot tonight against the Rockies.

Pittsburgh Pirates at San Diego Padres

Marco Gonzales (1-1) vs. Joe Musgrove (3-4)

Joe Musgrove Over 3.5 Hits Allowed

Musgrove returns from injury to take on a Pirates lineup that’s on a bit of a skid. Pittsburgh has lost seven in a row and have a chance to get to Musgrove who’s coming fresh off the IL. Musgrove may struggle in his first start back simply due to the time off, and a four hit outing would in all honesty be very solid right off of an injury.
